5. Boston Bruins 41-17-5: The Bruins needed defensive depth. The Bruins addressed their issues on defense. They added Andrej Meszaros from the Flyers and claimed Corey Potter off waivers from the Senators. The Bruins made minor moves but filled some holes.

Trade Deadline Winner

4. San Jose Sharks 41-17-7: The Sharks felt that they did not have any holes to fill at the trade deadline so they stood pat. They fell they do not have a weakness anywhere on their roster. They better go deep in the Stanley Cup playoffs otherwise people will view the trade deadline as failure.

Trade Deadline neutral

3. Pittsburgh Penguins  42-17-4: The Penguins wanted the KESLER. Vancouver was not going to budge from their asking price, so the Pens went out and got Lee Stempniak. Stempniak is a streaky scorer, but could become more consistent with Sidney Crosby on his line.

Trade Deadline neutral

2 .Anaheim Ducks 43-14-7: The Anaheim Ducks had a great team going into the NHL trade deadline. The Ducks did not need a flashy move, they did make a few smaller smart moves. The Ducks added Robidas from the Stars for picks. They shipped out Penner, Fasth, and Alex Grant for picks. Could this be the Ducks year?

Trade Deadline neutral

1.   St. Louis Blues 43-14-6: The Blues made the first splash in March with a huge trade. The Blues acquired Ryan Miller and Steve Ott for Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, William Carrier a prospect and two draft picks. The Blues might have been the biggest winner at the trade deadline. They are going for it all this season. Miller gives them the shutdown goalie they have yearned for. The Blues are the best team in the Western Conference.
