Welcome to Week 22 of Blackhawk Up’s 2013-14 Three Stars of the Week. As the title says, we will count down the top three performers in the Chicago Blackhawks’ lineup over the past seven days, and analyze their contribution to the team. These players don’t have to be the guys with the most points, or ice time, but the players that really stepped up their game, and made a positive impact.

The Chicago Blackhawks kicked off Week 22 with a tough loss to a Central Division rival in the Colorado Avalanche, but picked it up from there, scoring 6 goals in a victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets, and capped off the week with a 2-1 victory over the league-worst Buffalo Sabres.

Brent Seabrook found offense against a familiar club, and when paired with his strong defensive play, his week was solid as ever. Seabrook played 22 hard minutes in the ‘Hawks loss to Colorado, eventually finishing with a -2 rating. Luckily for the Blackhawks, Seabrook picked it up from there, with two assists and a +3 rating in Chicago’s win over Columbus. Seabrook finished the three-game week with nearly 26 minutes of ice time and a +1 rating against the Sabres. The Blackhawks will rely on Seabrook to provide a balanced attack during the playoffs, and he did just that, creating chances with his shot from the point. Add in a physical aspect and a guy who can eat up 24+ minutes a night, and Brent Seabrook is returning to form just at the right time.
