Jonathan Toews played like a captain should play in the past week, and has become a goal-scoring machine in the process. Toews’ point streak was extended to four games, with seven points in that time. He had one of the Blackhawks’ two goals against the Avalanche, and followed it up with two more in the romp over the Jackets. Toews capped it all off with the game-winner against the Sabres, four six goals in the past four games. Toews’ lowest face-off percentage this week was 53% , and with a +25 rating on the season, his name will be among the finalists for the Selke Trophy by season’s end. Leading by example, Toews showed Blackhawks fans why they are blessed to have #19 wear the “C” each game this week.

The Blackhawks have a re-match against the Avalanche on Wednesday, before facing another Division rival in the Nashville Predators on Friday. The week closes with a classic against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night.
