After losing two straight games and slipping behind other Central Division teams in the standings, the Chicago Blackhawks could certainly use the luck o’ the Irish, now more than ever.
The Blackhawks will be wearing green St. Patrick’s Day themed warmup jerseys when they face the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, March 16 at the United Center. The jerseys will be autographed by the respective players and then put up for online auction via auctions.nhl.com. The auction will run until Sunday, March 23, at 12 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Chicago Blackhawks Charities.
The Blackhawks had a similar fundraising effort last fall when they wore camouflage jerseys to salute our troops and veterans, with proceeds benefiting the USO of Illinois.
Our team may be in a bit of a rut right now, but let’s be sure to show them our support tomorrow and lift a pint to the lads – for the Playoff Rainbow ends not in a pot of gold, but a Cup of silver!
LET’S GO HAWKS!
