On Monday, TSN report Bob McKenzie got everyone is Chicago in a ruffle when he mentioned incorrectly that Teuvo Teravainen needed a contract.  He quickly changed his Tweet to correct himself but the Twitter lights were on and it was too late to stop the Teuvo talk was on full blast.

Bob’s mess up was one thing what really got everyone going, but it was when Chris Kuc said that Teuvo wasn’t the Savior that everyone got really fired up.

No one really thinks this, but I believe that most fans that watch the Hawks on a nightly basis are concerned with the Hawks heading to the playoffs with either Michal Handzus or Peter Regin starting at the 2nd line center position.

Teuvo is an exciting player with a lot of offensive ability that can skate.  When looking for updates during training camp one of the Blackhawks reporters asked Scotty Bowman who was the most impressive of the bunch.  Of course I was expecting a Brandon Pirri, Jeremy Morin or even possibly Stephen Johns.  But the reporter said only one player turned Bowman’s head at camp and that was Teravainen.

Right there I was sold! I watched him be the most impressive player at World Juniors while leading his country to gold and then I was not just sold but totally convinced that I was truly excited to see what he could do at the NHL Level with the highly skilled players on his wings namely Patrick Kane.  Kane leads the team in points and he’s been surrounded by Handzus all seasons long.

As a fan I’m very excited to see what he can do and knowing the recent history of young talented hockey players becoming stars right from the start in Chicago.  Maybe I’m too excited but I don’t really care! I’m more for seeing the future than reliving the past! So yes I want to see Teuvo in the middle of a line with Patrick Kane as soon as possible.

What is your feeling about Teuvo?
