The Blackhawks showed why they missed Marian Hossa over the past two weeks, and he had no trouble getting back in the groove last week. Hossa was out for over two weeks after an injury in the Blackhawks’ Stadium Series game, and finally made his return in the Blackhawks’ game against the Red Wings. He had no trouble reintroducing himself, with an assist in the first goal of the game by Nick Leddy. Hoss then proceeded to follow-up with two insurance markers, for three points on the week, in just one game. Although Andrew Shaw and Brandon Saad both had success on the first line, they could not replicate the puck skill and speed of Hossa, and his instant connection with Jonathan Toews was felt rink-wide. The only thing keeping Hossa out of the #1 Star position this week was the two games missed, and the great play of the player that landed there.
