The Chicago Blackhawks next game is a rematch of the Stanley Cup Championship versus one of the hottest teams in the NHL in the Boston Bruins, and oh by the way one of the more physical teams in the league especially in their barn!

The Blackhawks are one point away from 100, and with a ton of playoff scenario’s probably one point away from securing another playoff spot which would be the 6th straight in the Toews/Kane era!

The question is should Quenneville play Teuvo Teravainen in Boston on Thursday night? The one knock on Teuvo of course is his size and strength and the last thing the organization wants to do if this is truly just a dress rehearsal for next year is get him hurt on the road in a game he doesn’t belong playing in physically. It almost feels like the final game of the season last year when the Hawks waved the white flag to the St. Louis Blues and played an entire roster from Rockford to avoid injury.  The rest of the schedule sets up pretty nice for Teuvo minus the Blue game so avoiding Boston in Boston could be the safest plan of action.

Teuvo had a very encouraging premiere without hitting the scoresheet while maybe still showing some side effects of travelling the halfway around the globe less than a week ago, so you would feel safe to assume that his legs will keep getting fresher.  If his legs are there then Quenneville should play him and see what he and the organization have in a hostile environment against a big physical team that Teuvo shouldn’t thrive against this early in his bright career.  A lot of times it’s these kind of games that show what you really have deep down inside instead of the slow pitch softball games! The potential was right in front of our eyes on Tuesday night let’s not hold it down because of the reputation of the Bruins! One other footnote with him in the lineup the Hawks are averaging 4 goals a game instead of the two they were averaging pre-Teuvo.

Play it safe and sit Teuvo until Ottawa on Friday night or throw him into the real NHL fire in Boston? What should Quenneville do Thursday night?
