The last time the Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins faced off it was a great night at Soldier Field with snow and well more snow and best of all 5 goals. The Hawks have struggled in the offensive end lately with the Coach Quenneville line blender at full blast which doesn’t help the cohesiveness of the Blackhawks offense especially after the Olympic break.
The Penguins are America’s favorite team to hate whether it’s Sidney Crosby or the strange love affair between Pierre McGuire and the Pens organization. It’s funny that the Penguins in their current state has only won one Stanley Cup while the Blackhawks have won 2 Cups in the last 4 seasons yet there isn’t too much hatred nation wide for the Hawks.
Anyways on to tonight’s game and prediction.
Last Game Prediction– The Hawks didn’t win 4-3 but took another loss 5-3 in the Canadian Capital Friday night.
Tonight’s Prediction– The Hawks and Pens matchup could be a possible Cup Final matchup with it really looking like it’s a two team race in the East between Pittsburgh and Boston. Anyways there will not be snow blowing on the ice tonight inside the arena in Pittsburgh so this game will be closer than the last with the Hawks surprising many with a 4-3 win with Teuvo Teravainen picking up an assist on a Kris Versteeg goal.
