This will be the second of back-to-back games for the Hawks, who normally fare well in those circumstances (last week’s anomaly in Ottawa aside). To their credit, Lumbus nearly got away with the win against the Avs yesterday. But they blew a 2-0 lead in the third period and ultimately fell in OT. As far as how they fare against the Mighty Blackhawks, the only time the teams have faced each other this season was almost a month ago, in the March 6 game that yours truly was lucky enough to attend. The game had been knotted up at 1 each before the Hawks scored five additional unanswered goals to win the game in commanding fashion. Although we have seen time and again this season that no team should be underestimated or treated lightly, the game should be one of the easier ones the Hawks will have down the stretch.
