Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, April 9 (at home)
The Habs just clinched a playoff berth yesterday, in a similar fashion as the Hawks clinched theirs: thanks to the outcomes of games between other teams and in spite of just having lost a game (Montreal fell 3-1 to the Tampa Bay Lightning last night). Currently, they are sitting third in the Atlantic Division and 10th in the league overall. As with the Blue Jackets, this is a team that the Hawks have only seen once so far this season, way back on January 11. Unlike the series with Columbus, however, the Hawks lost the previous game against the Habs, 2-1 in OT. Montreal has looked strong as of late, going 5-2 in their last 7 games. This is also the same team that crashed the Boston Bruins’ party and ended their crazy 12-game win streak with a shootout victory. No small feat for the Hawks, but also not an insurmountable one.
