Guess who’s back in Chicago?
The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled Joakim Nordstrom from the Rockford Ice Hogs today. This has to be a signal that games will be missed by the Captain Jonathan Toews and possibly Michal Handzus who didn’t play in the third period on Sunday in Pittsburgh against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Nordstrom after and extremely brief cup of coffee with the Chicago Blackhawks at the beginning of the season playing in 10 games with the Blackhawks scoring his first NHL goal and picking up his first NHL assist. Nordstrom looked a little out of place during his first stay in Chicago although Quenneville liked him in training camp and like pairing him with Marcus Kruger on the PK that was pretty bad in the first month of the season.
Nordstrom didn’t sulk getting sent down to Rockford and has had a solid season for the Ice Hogs scoring 17 goals and 16 assists in 58 games.
Norststom is at morning practice today already with the rest of the Blackhawks who have had the past 2 days off. The raw talent was there hopefully getting a full season of playing time in Rockford will help Nordstrom when he takes the ice in the final 6 games of the regular season for the Hawks.
