Philadelphia Flyers vs New York Rangers (Game #1)

The Stanley Cup playoffs 2nd night kicks off with an Eastern conference tilt with the New York Rangers a team that seems like everyone’s dark horse to get to the Stanley Cup and the Philadelphia Flyers a team that has no defense which should make last night’s theme of lots of goals continue.   Henrik Lundqvist could be and should be the difference in this series.

Minnesota Wild vs Colorado Avalanche (Game #1)

The Wild move up one notch from last years playoffs by making the 7th seed or this year it’s called the top wild card.  The Wild struggle to score goals which will could be a problem in the series against the Colorado Avalanche who can skate and score goals.  The Avs are the unexpected top seed in the Central Division bracket after the collapse of the St. Louis Blues.  Patrick Roy did a great job in the regular season the true test will be how he does during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Los Angeles Kings vs San Jose Sharks (Game #1)

The Kings and Sharks seems like it should be played later in the playoffs than the first round kind of like the Blackhawks and Blues.  These two teams played in the Conference Semi-finals last season with the home team winning every game of the series.  The Sharks will be energized with the return of Thomas Hertl which will help their secondary scoring which usually struggles against the Kings.  Jonathan Quick will be the difference in this series and if he plays great look for the Kings to advance past the Shark again.
