The NHL has announced to today that they will investigate Coach Joel Quenneville obscene gesture in last night’s game. Coach Quennveille grabbed his groin area while yelling at the officials when their was an apparent delay of game penalty committed by the Blues.  The delay of game penalty would have given the Blackhawks a 5 on 3 power play.

One can speculate that Quenneville is a big Michael Jackson fan and was just showing the refs his best impression.  (SARCASM)

Patrick Sharp was asked to comment on the matter:

“Joel is a passionate coach and he’s intense on the bench — we certainly feel that as players,” Sharp said. “Sometimes he wants get his skates on and get out there and play with us. He’s got a fire behind the bench that really filters through the team and makes us play that much better.”

As a precautionary mesaure Coach Quenneville apologized: “I was definitely excited and disappointed at the call,” Quenneville said. “I apologize for my behavior. It wasn’t very appropriate at all. It was a bush-league move on my part.”

Maybe the call was Bush league?

The Blackhawks will take on the Blues Saturday at 2:00pm on NBC.
