Get the puck out of the zone

This has been the story of the series for the Chicago Blackhawks. It’s actually the lack of getting the puck out of their defensive zone for them though. Time and time again the Chicago Blackhawks have let the St. Louis Blues take advantage of them which has resulted in their shots on goal advantage. This has been a struggle throughout the entire series both for the Hawks and my nerves. It hasn’t been just one player or another though at fault. I have seen several games where multiple Blackhawks have failed to clear the puck when given the opportunity. Several times this has happened behind the net and in front leading to game tying/winning goals. If the Blackhawks can’t capitalize on clearing the zone in Game 5, they stand a tough battle ahead of them.

Expect the Blackhawks to try and take this series lead in St. Louis while riding a two game win streak. The momentum has shifted but we have seen it do that a lot so far. After losing the first two games of the series after leading during the final minutes keep an eye out on how the Chicago Blackhawks adjust this time around in the final minutes of the periods. Patrick Kane even spoke about the issue after his Game 4 game winning OT goal, so it is definitely in the back of their minds. Let’s hope they have these goals in mind and can execute a majority of these during Game 5 on a consistent basis. It’s now down to a best of 3 series…LET’S GO HAWKS!!!
