Andrew Shaw is not making the trip to Minnesota for Tuesday night’s Game #3 from Xcel Energy Center. Andrew Shaw has only played 3:01 in the Minnesota Wild series after Clayton Stoner checked him right into day-to-day status.
Shaw was listed as questionable for Game #2, but didn’t dress for the Blackhawks 4-1 victory Sunday. Shaw though day-to-day has already been announced as not making the trip for Game #3, with the possibility of being back in the lineup on Friday night when the Hawks take on the Wild in Game #4.
Andrew Shaw though not huge on the Blackhawks Scoring leaderboard does a lot of things that are missed and that doesn’t find its way to scoresheets or stat lines. Shaw is a high energy guy that puts his smallish frame on the line each night in front of the opposing net. Yes Bryan Bickell is getting high praise for doing what he should be doing on a nightly basis, but unlike Bickell who’s a playoff guy, Shaw does it every night of the year whether it’s regular season or postseason and he was rewarded with his first 20 goal season this year.
Shaw will be missed, but if the Hawks are going to keep advancing in the playoffs there isn’t a need to rush Shaw back before he’s healthy enough to play.
Get Well Soon Shaw!!
