Happy Memorial Day!!

I just wanted to take a moment before we get wrapped up in Game #4 of the Western Conference Finals today, to say Thank you to all the men and women that have sacrificed to keep our nation free.  It’s because of their sacrifice that we are able to talk about the Chicago Blackhawks without any fear of getting punished by the government.

Our nation is the Greatest Nation ever and it’s because of all that have given the ultimate sacrifice!

The Blackhawks before every game salute an active and retired serviceman and on this Memorial Day here is one of the many great renditions of the National Anthem by Jim Cornelison.

The Blackhawks nickname comes from a military background, the original owner of the Blackhawks Fredric McLaughlin fought in World War I and he was the commander of the 333rd Machine Gun Battalion of the 86th Infantry Division whose nickname was the ” Blackhawks Division” and that is how the Blackhawk name became Chicago’s hockey team.

We will be talking a lot of hockey today, but if you see a veteran today please tell them Thank You it’s because of them we are free today!!

Happy Memorial Day!! Have a Safe and Enjoyable day!!
