The Chicago Blackhawks summer will be full of events and even though its a bitter pill to swallow that the Hawks are not in the Stanley Cup Finals with all these things going on it will seem like the offseason was just as short as last year record short summer.

June 27- The NHL Draft Philadelphia PA

If there is going to be player movement within the Blackhawks organization this will be the weekend that it happens!  The Hawks in recent years have basically dumped salary for picks on draft day and passed on any and all Blockbuster trades.

July 5– Free Agency Begins

The Hawks made two rather surprising moves last season in re-signing Michal Handzus and Michal Rozsival on Free Agency day. Will the Hawks be able to pursuade a veteran to take less to play for a contender? The last big (sarcasm) free agency signing was Sheldon Brookbank in 2012.

July 18-20 Hawks Convention

The Blackhawks were the first NHL team to have a convention and it gets bigger and bigger each year especially with 2 Stanley Cups in the past 5 seasons. Brand New and Die Hard Hawks fans really enjoy this weekend with the team. Here is a link to the convention information.

July 19– NHL Schedule Released

Right in the middle of the summer the schedule is released for everyone to see and break down.  When will the two long road trips be for the Hawks and when will the Hawks travel to Nashville when they try to keep the red out.

TBD-September Training Camp

Every year training camp is interesting to see who will be the final few to make the team. Will Teuvo Teravainen make the squad or will he start out in Rockford? Should be fun though

Which Summer event are you looking forward to the most?
