Blackhawks Top 3 Late Round Draft Picks

By Keith Schultz
3 of 3

1. Steve Larmer- 1980 120th Selection 6th round

What a steal for the Blackhawks in the 6th round. Steve Larmer played in 891 games as a Blackhawks from 1980-1993 scoring 406 goals and 517 assists while playing on my favorite line of all-time in Chicago with

Denis Savard

Al Secord

.  Let’s get something straight right now, Larmer of all players should be in the Hall of Fame and as much as I like

Ben Smith

and his game, #28 should be up in the United Center rafters with his line mate Savard.   Larmer knew how to get the puck in the net on a consistent basis with only two seasons in Chicago with less than 30 goals. If you forgot how great Larmer was here is a shorthanded goal in 1990 against the St. Louis Blues

Who’s your biggest diamond in the rough? If we went to today’s team I’m pretty sure everyone would say Andrew Shaw! Let us know your top 3 in our Comments section, and for more Blackhawks conversation follow us on Twitter @Blackhawk_Up
