After a year away the NHL Awards show is back in Las Vegas after taking off a summer due to the lockout.  The Chicago Blackhawks players are up for three award with Jonathan Toews up for consecutive Selke Awards and he is also up for the Mark Messier Leadership Award.  Toews won the Selke last season but isn’t considered the favorite for the award with Patrice Bergeron the favorite to pick up the award. Toews is the favorite for the Messier for the award.

The other player up for the award is Duncan Keith and the Norris Trophy.  Keith won the Norris back in 2010 and is considered to be the favorite for the award but both Shea Weber and Zdeno Chara would not be considered an upset winners if theywere to pick up the trophy.  Keith was great at the beginning of the season but his point total slacked off a bit towards the end of the year when the voting took place.
