Over/Under– We had Handzus down for 10 goals and 10 assists so we hit one and missed badly on the other!
Season Review- If you’re a regular reader you know my dislike for Handzus game as a whole and to watch him for most of the season well it was one frustrating season. Handzus was the 2nd line center for most of the season and basically ran Brandon Pirri out of town and all for 16 points on a line with Patrick Kane. Kane scored one goal all season with Handzus on the line so that’s all you need to know about Zus regular season.
Handzus admitted after the season that he wasn’t healthy and yet
Joel Quennevillecouldn’t pull him out of the lineup which was the worst thing one could hear. The Blackhawks by the end of the playoffs were only playing Handzus on the penalty kill which he did excel at and then for one magical moment Handzus extended the Kings series with a nice little move to beat Jonathan Quick.
So if this Handzus send off we will have a good memory of guy that struggled for most of his days with Chicago but somehow always pulled out a key goal in a pressure situation.
Grade- F Handzus slowed down the team all season long and the only person happier than me to say goodbye to Handzus has to be Patrick Kane who could be ready to have a career regular season next year.
What is your grade for Handzus?
