Former New York Rangers center Brad Richards has signed a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks. The deal is rumored to be worth 1 year $2 million.

Darren Dreger was one of the first to report this:

Last year during the Rangers run to the Stanley Cup Finals, Richards had 20 goals and 31 assists for 51 points in the regular season and had 5 goals and 7 assists in the playoffs.

This is a good deal for Chicago. The Hawks were in need of depth at center, and Richards can fill that 2nd line center role while Teuvo Teravainen develops, if he does.

Richards also has Stanley Cup experience as he won the Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004, and was the runner up in 2014 with the Rangers.
