20. Columbus Blue Jackets:

Significant Additions: Scott Hartnell

Significant Losses: Nikita Nikitin, Derek MacKenzie, Blake Comea, Matt Frattin, Nick Schultz, Jack Skille

The Blue Jackets struck early in the offseason adding Scott Hartnell via trade from the Flyers. This was a huge move for the Blue Jackets. In terms of free agency the Blue Jackets lost a lot of their depth players. Their depth was one of their keys to success last year.

19. Arizona Coyotes:

Significant Additions: Sam Gagner, Joe Vitale, Devan Dubnyk

Significant Losses: Radim Vrbata, Mike Robeiro, Dave Moss, Derek Morris, Thomas Greiss, B.J. Crombeen, Tim Kennedy, Jeff Halpern, Paul Bissonnette

The Coyotes got three decent players in Gagner, Vitale, and Dubnyk. HOWEVER they lost way too much on offense in Vrbata and Moss. Vrbata had 20 goals and 31 assists while Moss had 8 goals and 14 assists. These losses could make a weak offensive attack into a lame offensive attack.

18. Philadelphia Flyers:

Significant Additions: Nick Schultz, Blair Jones, RJ Umberger,

Significant Losses: Steve Downie, Adam Hall, Chris VandeVelde, Tye McGinn, Scott Hartnell.

The Flyers traded Scott Hartnell for RJ Umberger. The Flyers are banking on Umberger speed and that he has something left in the tank. In terms of overall free agency, the Flyers are in salary cap hell, so they cannot make any significant moves.

17. Boston Bruins:

Significant Additions: None

Significant Losses: Jarome Iginla, Andrej Meszaros, Chad Johnson, Shawn Thornton, Corey Potter.

Iginla was the only loss that the Bruins should be concerned about. The Bruins currently do not have a replacement for him. The others are not very important to the Bruins in the scheme of things. Salary Cap issues still plague the Bruins.

16. Anaheim Ducks:

Significant Additions: Ryan Kesler, Clayton Stoner, and Nate Thompson

Significant Losses: Teemu Selanne, Jonas Hiller, Daniel Winnik, Mathieu Perreault, Stephane Robodias, Saku Koivu, David Steckel.

Kesler makes the Ducks a significantly better team and might be the biggest move of the offseason. They have mainly bleed depth players during free agency. Clayton Stoner is a nice addition.
