15. Buffalo Sabres:
The Sabres actually had a decent free agent period. Moulson coming back was a nice pick up. They also rid themselves of Leino’s bad deal. The loss of Erhoff might the most significant for the Sabres because many viewed him as their best player last season.
14. Los Angeles Kings:
The Kings resigned Gaborik to an extremely cap friendly deal. After resigning Gaborik the Kings really just lost a few depth players. They are standing pat in free agency. After winning the Stanley Cup, the Kings can afford to stand pat in free agency.
13. Nashville Predators:
The Predators needed to add some offense so they traded for James Neal. This was a much needed trade for the Predators. They addressed their center issues by adding Olli Jokinen. His deal is a one year 2.5 million dollar deal.
12. Winnipeg Jets:
Significant Additions: Mathieu Perreault
Perreault is a nice addition at the center position for the Jets. Setoguchi is an addition by subtraction type of move and the rest of the players they lost can be replaced by their in the system talent.
11. St. Louis Blues:
Significant Additions: Paul Stastny
Stastny is a huge sign for the Blues. He was the best player available free agency and they got him. He gives them more center depth and another offensive weapon. The Blues should be a force again in the Central Division. Not everything is perfect in St. Louis, they still do not know who their starting goalie will be.
