We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Faceoff series last season that we decided to do it again. In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Blackhawks October 9th season opener against the Dallas Stars.
As we settle into the month of July we finally reach a number that has been worn in Chicago Blackhawks history and actually it’s been worn twice. Here’s a look both of the Chicago Blackhawks that have worn #94 in our countdown to opening night.
Sergei Berezin– 2002-2003
- Penalty Minutes- 18
- Power Play Goals-5
Yanic Perreault 2007-2008
- Penalty Minutes-24
- Power Play Goals-1
Both Berezin and Perreault played their final season with Chicago before hanging up their skates for the last time in the NHL. Perrault’s biggest accomplishment with the Blackhawks has to be as a faceoff coach working specifically with Marcus Kruger who became the Hawks 2nd best face-off man behind Jonathan Toews last season. Perrault now just has to get some work done with Andrew Shaw!
Do you have any memories of either player or are they just a minor footnote in our number countdown that no one pretty much remembers?
Be on the lookout for our Countdown to Faceoff series as we continue to work our way to the season opener on October 9th. We’re 94 days from the season opener. Is it October yet???
