Konroyd was a solid defenseman that played for the Blackhawks in the late 80’s yet many Blackhawks fans don’t remember him on the President’s Trophy team in 1991. The Blackhawks were stacked with talent and Konroyd was your reliable defenseman night in and night out. Konroyd was shipped out before the 1992 Finals team after a very solid and respectable tenure with the Hawks on their defense.
Most Blackhawks fans recognize Konroyd for being the Blackhawks TV Studio host for pre-game and post-game Blackhawks coverage, and fill in color commentator for Eddie Olczyk when he’s off on NBC assignments. Konroyd is a pretty good studio guy and less nonsense color guy then Eddie is so there is less yucking it up when Konroyd is in the booth with Pat Foley. Konroyd isn’t a superstar but he’s had a very long tenure in different capacities as player and TV with the Blackhawks.
What do you think of Konroyd on our All-time list? Too high, Too Low or shouldn’t have made our list?
