We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Faceoff series last season that we decided to do it again. In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Blackhawks October 9th season opener against the Dallas Stars.
We are down to 77 days until the Season opener and we have finally landed on a jersey number worn by a Blackhawk during the franchises 80 years of playing hockey. Paul Coffey was a Hall of Famer but his stats in Chicago Were not let’s take a quick look
Coffey’s Blackhawks Stats
Time on the ice- 154 minutes.
As you can see Coffey barely spent enough time in a Chicago Blackhawks jersey for a Cup of coffee but it was good enough to get #77 used at least once in Blackhawks history. Coffey was a 3 time Norris trophy winner and Stanley Cup Champion with the Edmonton Oilers and Pittsburgh Penguins but his time with the Blackhawks was at the tale end of a long destinguished career.
