1. Big Expectations: Big Results

Now that the city of Chicago is used to seeing championship parades every couple of years, it’s time for the Blackhawks to deliver another one (sorry Bears fans). Ending their season just one goal away from the Stanley Cup final, a series that many thought the Blackhawks would have gone on to win, leaves a bad taste in the mouth, and players and fans alike are buzzing to wash that taste away. The Blackhawks are the odds-on favourite to take it all home in 2014-15, just as they were one year ago. Odds aside, everyone expects the Blackhawks to at the very least, contend for a championship in the 2014-15 season. It won’t be easy getting through the Western Conference, and for the third straight season, they may have to battle the Los Angeles Kings in the Western Conference Final, arguably the league’s most dangerous playoff team. That weight is something the Blackhawks are used to carrying on their shoulders, and every time pressure is forced on them, the ‘Hawks respond in brilliant fashion.
