John Marks is a #ProjectBrookbank that actually made the transition from defenseman to winger in the NHL in the 1970’s.  Marks cracked the lineup with a lot of other young Blackhawks in the 1973 season and helped the Hawks make it to the 73 Finals.  Unfortunalty the Hawks and Marks would never get any closer to a Stanley Cup Championship.

Marks was a solid two-way defenseman which made his move to wing an easy one and he worked hard at his trade and he not only made the move to wing, but he got to play on a line with Stan Mikita which helped Marks eclipse the 20 goal mark in a season twice in his career.

Marks was a cereer Blackhawk never wearing another jersey in his career and he was one of the fiercest forecheckers in the NHL and would work his way on to the Blackhawks powerplay units so although we joke around about projects but there are always players that can become projects and have an outstanding career.
