Steve Thomas was a goal scorer pure and simple no matter what teams sweater he was wearing in his NHL career which lasted 1,235 games. Thomas collected 933 points and was close to a point a game player until the tail end of his career which included his last couple in Chicago in his not so glorious return to the Blackhawks.
Thomas was a young gun the first time he showed up in Chicago after the Hawks sent Ed Olczyk to the Toronto Maple Leafs and Thomas didn’t fulfill his promise until his third season in Chicago due to injuries when he scored 40 times and had 70 points overall.

Thomas had four hat tricks with the Blackhawks including a rare four goal game. Thomas best season was in 1989-90 which included his best playoff run with the Hawks with the Blackhawks reaching the Conference Finals but it ending like it did a lot in the late 80’s with a 6 game loss to the Edmonton Oilers after winning back to back Game 7’s against the Minnesota North Stars and St. Louis Blues.
Thomas was a sparkplug and played hard which caused him to get injured having only played 81 games once in his long career, but had a very long shelf life because everyone loves a scorer. Thomas could score and he did it well for the Hawks. For some reason I always liked Thomas so maybe I ranked him higher than I should have what do you think of Thomas ranking?
