Hello Blackhawks fans, I am Brian Kasnicka, the newest staff writer for Blackhawk Up.  I was born and raised in Springdale, Arkansas where the last sport people watched was hockey, but luckily both of my parents were born and raised in the greatest city in the world, Chicago.  I visited Chicago every summer for about twelve years as a child and grew to love all of the sports teams the city had, especially the Chicago Blackhawks.   I watched them struggle year after year until the 2008-2009 season where something seemed to click, then as you know the rest was history. I have a passion for writing and an unmatched passion for the Chicago Blackhawks, and now I am finally able to combine the two.

Throughout the season I will give you anything from game recaps, to player reviews, to possible trade rumors.  I really don’t have a set topic for writing, so I’ll be writing whatever comes to mind basically.  If any of you readers feel like reading something on a certain topic, feel free to comment on one of my articles and I’d be more than happy to try to write on the topic which you requested.

I look forward to writing for all of you this season and I’m sure you’re just as ready as I am for the season to start.  Lofty expectations for the Blackhawks once again this season.  Let’s go Hawks!!
