We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Faceoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Blackhawks  October 9th season opener against the Dallas Stars.

We reach #46 that has been worn a couple of times, and one player did wear it that got his name on the Stanley Cup in 2010 so let’s take a look at the Blackhawks that have worn #46

Shawn Byram-1992  Bryam made it to the show with the Hawks for one game and his NHL career quickly came to an end.

Tuomas Gronman-1997

Dmitri Nabokov-1998

Dennis Bonvie

-2009 Bonvie played in 11 games didn’t pick up a point but did collect 44 penalty minutes, and he wasn’t very good at the fighting thing either

Todd Gill-2003  Gill played in over 600 games in the NHL, but he played his last 5 with the Blackhawks and he picked up one assists in his final act in the NHL.

Colin Fraser-2007-2010

Penalty Minutes-108

Fraser was a bottom six player that played hard on a nightly basis that was able to get his name on the Stanley Cup in two straight seasons. First he helped the Hawks win their first Cup in 49 seasons, then he ended up in LA and was part of the Kings first ever Stanley Cup Championship.

What is you favorite memory of Colin Fraser?

Be on the lookout for our Countdown to Faceoff series as we continue to work our way to the season opener on October 9th. We’re 46 days from the season opener.  Is it October yet???
