Jocelyn Thibault was traded for a legend and failed miserably in Montreal.  As a 20 year old goalie Thibault was traded to the Montreal Canadiens for Patrick Roy and at the end of his stay with Montreal he was quoted as saying he was playing in living hell.

He came to Chicago for Jeff Hackett and other players and became a huge workhorse for the Blackhawks during a terrible era of Chicago Blackhawks hockey.  He still ranks 5th all-time in games played as a goalie in Blackhawks history.

Thibault and the Blackhawks only reached the playoffs once during his tenure and it was an extemely short series and the Dark ages where on for the Blackhawks.

Thibault is one of the bright spots on a team that lacked talent in all aspects and when he was moved in 2004 to the Pittsburgh Penguins he probably was thinking about the same quote he had when he left the Canadiens about his days with Chicago.  He would go on to play for one season before Marc-Andre Fluery took over for Pittsburgh and a trade to Buffalo later and Thibault was out of the NHL.

What are your memories of Thibault in Chicago? Too high or Too Low for Thibault in our Top 100 Countdown?
