If you answered 16 you are correct! Bobby Hull wore # 16 from 1957-1961, #7 from 1961-1963, and from 1963-1972 he sported his final and retired Blackhawks #9. The number had become available following veteran forward Tod Sloans retirement and Bobby Hull made the final change during the 1961-62 season. Hull made the switch in honor of his favorite player growing up, Gordie Howe, who he eventually went on to face head-to-head.
