1. Phillip Danault

There were a lot of Blackhawks fans that thought Danault could have a huge preseason last year and crack the roster last fall, but it wasn’t to be for the other 2011 first round draft pick of the Blackhawks. Danault after some incredible juniors seasons was somewhat disappointing in Rockford only scoring 6 times while picking up 20 assists.

One encouraging thing about Danault’s game was how it improved with Hartman’s arrival to Rockford and on Danault’s line.  Danault finished the season strong and has been constantly talked about as Marcus Kruger’s replacement next season.  Sure Danault may be the longest of  longshots on this list but he seems to be the one with the most defined role in the upcoming seasons so it wouldn’t be a stretch to see him get a taste of the big leagues sooner than later.

What do you think? Will Q stick to his traditions and have a surprise prospect on the opening night roster or will he stick to old school ways of just adding Brandon Mashinter to the roster!
