As the preseason keeps rolling, the Chicago Blackhawks head to Saskatoon to take on the Edmonton Oilers.  This is game #4 of 7, of the preseason, meaning we will be past the half-way point of the preseason, once today’s game is completed.

If you are interested in watching or listening to the game, you can catch it on and you can listen to it on  Keep in mind, the game is being played in Saskatoon time, which means the game starts at 5pm, central time.

Big news!  Today’s game will be the preseason debut of Teuvo Teravainen!  Teravainen had been held out with an upper-body injury largely due to precautionary reasons, from the Hawks’ coaching staff.  Teravainen likely won’t make the Hawks’ roster once the season starts, but he is part of the big-picture of the future, so seeing him play anytime and anywhere is exciting in and of itself.  Kris Versteeg and Joakim Nordstrom will also be making their preseason debuts after being out with an illness and an upper-body injury respectively.

You’ll have to check the pregame rosters to know who’s all playing, for both teams.

Nail Yakupov will be playing tonight, for the Oilers.  Yakupov has showed lots of promise and talent, but he needs to prove that he can be mature at the NHL-level, this season.  Richard Bachman will get the start in net, for Edmonton.  Bachman figures to be Edmonton’s 3rd goaltender, this season, but on a team with very shallow goaltending depth, he could figure into more NHL playing time than most 3rd goaltenders.

After tonight’s game, it’ll be 4 down, 3 to go until the regular season starts.  We’re almost there!

Go Hawks!
