2. Winter Classic

Sure, we don’t get the benefit of having an outdoor game in Chicago this time around. But the game played on New Year’s Day is the marquee event of the mid-season. We have been lucky to host a game in Wrigley Field and Soldier Field within the past five years. Washington, D.C. may be a bit of a haul for Blackhawks fans, but it’s an item on the bucket list of many a hockey fan. I hope to be able to attend.

1. One Goal III

Last season, our Hawks were poised to be the first team to become repeat champs in over twenty years. One unlucky bounce in a Game 7 and ensuing disappointment later, plus a summer to reflect on that near miss, players and fans have largely shaken it off and are back to regroup. Hawks are heavily favored again this year to go all the way. Having watched some of the preseason games, it is apparent that the components are there. Now it is up to the players and the organization to put those pieces together into a force to be reckoned with, and fans should trust them to do so.
