We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Faceoff series last season that we decided to do it again, and today is our final day of the countdown!!!!. The calendar has turned into October ,we look at jersey numbers from past and present as we count down the days until October 9th and opening night against the Dallas Stars.

Glenn Hall‘s #1 hangs from the United Center rafters, and he was the goalie that helped the Blackhawks hoist the Stanley Cup in 1961.  Hall is also the Blackhawks iron man when it comes to goalies having played over 500 straight games in a row and all without a mask.  The last Hawk to wear #1 was Warren Skorodenski also a goalie and as we all know the #1 will never be worn again in Blackhawks franchise history.  Here’s our last recap of jersey numbers worn in Blackhawks history the loneliest number the number 1.

1. Red Almas-1950-1951 Almas played in 1 game picking up one loss in net during his stay with the Hawks.

2. Glen Smith-1951 Smith dressed in 2 games without a point.

3. Harry Lumley-1951-1952 Lumley isn’t part of the great goalie lineage going 29-85-19 during his two seasons with the Blackhawks.

4. Al Rollins-1954-1957 Rollins appeared in 308 games going 81-171-56 during his five year stay with the Hawks.

5. Denis DeJordy-1962-1970 DeJordy replaced Hall and went a respectable 90-69-32 between the pipes

6. Gerry Desjardins 1971-1972 Desjardins went 17-8-5 during two seasons with the Hawks.

7. Gary Smith 1972-1974 Smith was the Hawks backstop for 51 contests for Chicago going 24-15-8
