This offseason the Ottowa Senators parted ways with Jason Spezza and prospect Ludwiq Karlsson to the Dallas Stars and acquired Alex Chiasson, prospects Nicholar Paul, Alex Guptill, and a second-round 2015 draft pick in return. The Stars have brought in one of the top veteran centers that were available in free agency and hope that he can provide extra goal support for Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. Last year he scored 23 goals and had 66 points on the season so he still has some in the tank at 31. He will be able to provide veteran leadership to the team in addition to his skills. Keep an eye on the second line he will be centering alongside his former Senator teammate/friend Ales Hemsky who also joined the team this off-season as mentioned earlier. After the two were united on the Senators for a brief time Jason Spezza scored 7 goals and 12 assits while Ales Hemsky scored 4 goals and 13 assists so they should be able to replicate here. If this scenario does not work out the Dallas Stars will go with a top line of Ales Hemsky, Jamie Benn, and Tyler Seguin as they reportedly had hoped to go with.
