As mentioned earlier, the Sabres dropped their season opener earlier this week to the Blue Jackets with a score of 3-1. But if it wasn’t for Buffalo goalie Jhonas Enroth, the score could have easily been much worse. Enroth faced 40 shots in that game and saved 37 of them. Although far from being a rookie – Enroth is now in his sixth season with the club – he had some big shoes to fill last season after Ryan Miller departed for St. Louis in late February. In the aftermath, having appeared in a career-high 28 games, Enroth ended with a 4-17-5 record, 2.82 goals-against average, and .911 save percentage. He made one start last season against the Hawks (March 9) and stopped 29 of 31 shots.
