Mashinter we hardly knew you!

According to reports, The Blackhawks have placed Brandon Mashinter on waivers.  Mashinter was supposed to be the enforcer and well he beat out Bass and Labrie in camp but it was evident that the Joel Quenneville wasn’t too impressed with Mashinter and getting hurt against the Motreal Canadiens in the preseason didn’t help him at all.

Mashinter if he clears waivers (which is expected) will be headed to Rockford, and it also goes to prove that the Hawks coaching staff and front office are happy with the acquisition of Daniel Carcillo and the play of Carcillo in the first two games.

Carcillo scored his first goal of the season last night off a great play from Brandon Saad and the Hawks will be happy if Carcillo continues to play smart hard-nosed hockey and not his usual lunatic style that will probably rear its ugly head sometime this season.

For now it’s Mashinter on waiver and the only time we see him in Chicago was probably last night when he couldn’t even wear a sports jacket for the opening night pre-game festivities!!

What do you think of Carcillo’s play through two games?
