There’s lots of positives going for the Chicago Blackhawks, after starting the 2014-15 season 2-0. Everything was working right for the team, both offensively and defensively, And they stayed perfect through a shortened first week of the year. Today, we rank the best of the best; the Blackhawks’ Three Stars from the past week.
#3: Corey Crawford
Crawford wasn’t talked about very much over the summer, and that seemed to pay dividends through the first two games of the season. Crawford allowed two goals in each of his starts, kicking off the season with a 32-save effort in the shootout win over the Dallas Stars, and following that up on Saturday with a 21-save night against the Buffalo Sabres. Crawford was there at key times, and if it wasn’t for a momentary lapse during a Blackhawks’ power-play, he may have only given up one goal on Saturday night. Crawford is looking strong through two games, and if this small sample size is any indication, Blackhawks’ fans may see a Crow they have never seen before.
