14. Columbus Blue jackets 3-2-0: The Blues Jackets are 3-2-0 on the season. Their big move in the offseason Scott Hartnell has 4 assists on the young season. Ryan Johansen did not let his contract negotiations affect him. He has 3 goals and 4 assists in 5 games.

13. The Detroit Red Wings 3-1-1: The Wings Gustav Nyquist picked up where he left off last season. He has four goals and 1 assist thus far this season. With Datsyuk out for four to six weeks with a separated shoulder, the Wings need Nyquist even more this year.

12. Dallas Stars 2-1-2: The Stars can score goals and will score goals this season. The most important players on the Stars is goalie Kari Lehtonen. Lehtonen is 2-0-2 with 2.90 goals against average and a save percentage of .906 .

11. Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1-0: The Penguins will always been good as long as they have Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Those two players are the heart and soul of the Pens but they are not the most important player this season. The most important player is Marc Andre Fleury. He is 3-1-0 with 2.50 goals against average.

10. Tampa Bay Lightening 3-1-1: The Lightening are off to a good start, Steven Stamkos appears to be fully healthy. He has 5 goals and 2 assists in 5 games this season. Ben Bishop is off to a good start this season. He is 3-0-1 with 1.71 goals against average.
