9. Chicago Blackhawks 3-0-1: The Blackhawks are 3-0-1 on the season but the troubling issue is their power play. The Blackhawks are 1-11 in their last 12 power plays. Free agent signee Brad Richards has yet to pick up a point for the Blackhawks. Despite all of this, the Blackhawks have yet to lose in regulation.

8. Los Angeles Kings 3-1-1: Marian Gaborik is day to day with an upper body injury. Gaborik has been injury prone over the course of his career. Last season he only recorded 11 regular season goals. The Kings are hoping Gaborik can get close to his 40 goals a season production from his days in New York.

7. Anaheim Ducks 4-1-0: Remember when people thought the Ducks would be in trouble because of their young goalies? 5 games into the young season the Ducks goalies are silencing the critics. Frederik Andersen is 4-0-0 with 1.71 goals against average and a .937 save percentage. By the way Corey Perry is really good, he has five goals and two assists already this season.

6. Washington Capitals 3-0-2: Barry Trotz appears to be working his “magic” in Washington. Braden Holtby has been the story for the Capitals this season. He is 2-0-1 with 1.85 goals against average and .932 save percentage.
