5. Nashville Predators 3-0-2: The Predators switched coaches from Barry Trotz to Peter Laviolette. Laviolette is an offensive minded coach and was going to bring a different style to the Preds. Thus far the style has not produced many goals but the Preds have not allowed many. Pekka Rinne is 3-0-1 with a 1.22 goals against average.

4. New York Islanders 4-1-0: Has Cinderella met Price Charming? The new addition of Jaroslav Halak and Johnny Boychuk are instantly playing off. Jaroslav Halak has been very good for the Islanders this season. He is 3-1-0 with a .913 save percentage and 2.70 goals against average. Boychuk has 2 goals and 4 assists on the season. Not everything is good for the Islanders, Mikhail Grabovski is out indefinitely because of hit sustained by John Scott.

3. Ottawa Senators 4-1-0: The Senators are winning games with good goal tending. Craig Anderson has a record of 2-1-0 and 2.01 goals against average. Robin Lehner is 2-0-0 with a 1.92 goals against average. The Sens will need to score more goals to keep up this pace.

2. San Jose Sharks 4-0-1: Is this your typical Sharks? They start off fast and then run out of gas just in time for the playoffs. Tomas Hertl is back healthy and has 2 goals in the young season. Antti Niemi is hoping for a rebound season. Niemi is 3-0-0 with a 2.27 goals against average.

1. Montreal Canadiens 5-1-0: The Canadiens are playing extremely to start the season. Carey Price is 4-1-0 with a 3.38 goals against average. Tomas Plekanec has 4 goals and 3 assist, P.K Subban has 3 goals and 1 assists, P.A Parenteau has 2 goals and 3 assist and Max Pacioretty has 2 goals and 2 assists. The numbers don’t lie the Canadiens are good. RESPECT!
