The Blackhawks have announced that Corey Crawford is day to day with an upper injury. Crawford is having an impressive start to the 2014 season. Crawford is 3-0-1 with a 1.66 goals against average and .926 save percentage. With the Blackhawks struggling to score goals early in the season, Crawford has been the best player on the ice in all four games.

The Blackhawks will now turn to Antti Raanta. Raanta has played in three leagues over the course of his professional career. He has played in the SM-Liiga, AHL, and the NHL.  He played in the SM-Liiga from 2007 to 2012. His best season was in 2012-13, he had a 1.85 goals against average and .943 save percentage. Raanta then came over to the Rockford Icehogs where he appeared in 14 games. He posted a 2.83 goals against average and .914. Raanta for his NHL career is 13-5 with a 2.71 goals against average and .897 save percentage. Raanta appeared to play better with regular NHL starts last season.

In addition to starting Raanta in place of Crawford, the Blackhawks recall Scott Darling. Darling came to the Blackhawks this training camp. Darling has played in SPHL, ECHL, CHL, and AHL. Last season he spent 26 games with the Milwaukee Admirals. He was 13-6-2 with a 2.00 goals against average and .933 save percentage. Thus far this season, he has appeared in two games with the Rockford Icehogs. He is 2-0 with a 1.44 goals against average and .948 save percentage. Darling earned a spot with the Blackhawks organization because of his strong training camp.

The Blackhawks take on the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at 7:30pm.
