As the Blackhawks’ captain, Jonathan Toews is expected to make an impact each and every shift. He did just that through the Hawks’ three games this week, delivering at clutch moments and dominating play all of the time, leading by example and making him the clear choice for this week’s Second Star. Toews’ brightest moment this week came at the end of the game against the Nashville Predators, where the captain ended the affair with a short-handed goal in overtime, the first in Blackhawks’ regular-season history, and his first goal of the year. Toews is on a point-per-game pace through the first 82 games of the year, and if you sit down to watch #19 play, you soon realize his contributions stretch much further than the score-sheet.
