Daniel Carcillo’s promising first month of the season has hit a detour.  Carcillo’s knee was seen hyper-extending in last night’s game against the St. Louis Blues and Carcillo went straight to the locker room.  After last night’s game Joel Quenneville said Carcillo would be out a bit and I put the number at 3 weeks but today Quenneville said he would be out for four weeks which means we won’t see Carcillo until after Thanksgiving Day.

It was a pretty big surprise when the Blackhawks signed Daniel Carcillo right before the start of the season and he seemed to be on his best behavior in the first two weeks of the season, but he did miss some golden chances to score goals although he did find the back of the net against the Buffalo Sabres.

There has been a lot of articles on this being Carcillo’s last shot in the NHL and he looked to be taking things very serious which makes last night’s injury tough to watch even if you were rooting for Jeremy Morin to see more ice time.

For now Carcillo is sidelined for four weeks, don’t forget the last time he was sidelined for an extended period of time Brandon Saad finally had time to shine in 2013!
