With Scott Darling sent back to Rockford and Daniel Carcillo being out for an extended period of time, a roster spot could be open for a call-up. With all of these developments, could Teuvo Teravainen’s time be close?
The Hawks offense, according to some, has been in a bit of a rough stretch. They were able to get 4 goals against the Senators, but it hasn’t been that easy.
Coach Q has hit the line blender a number of times already, seeing Brandon Saad be on what is called the Hawks 4th line. Q is trying to push whatever buttons he needs in order to jump start the offense and get the Hawks going on all cylinders again.
There is one man in Rockford that could provide that spark. Teuvo Teravainen.
The man that has been talked about ever since he was drafted by the Hawks has been perfecting his game in Rockford, hoping to get the call-up during this season.
During training camp, there was an outside chance for Teravainen to make the team out of camp and be with the Hawks for the entire season. That didn’t happen and he was sent to Rockford, under the impression that his time was just around the corner.
With the cap space available and a spark needed on offensive, the young playmaker’s time is now.
Teravainen is extremely talented and will immediately help the Hawks’ offensive problems. There are parts of his game that he needs to work on and Coach Q will be sure to let him know when he makes a mistake.
The Hawks have a golden opportunity to call up their top prospect and allow him to help in a big way.
During each NHL season, teams go through rough patches where not everything goes as planned. Teams that are successful in the NHL are the ones that adapt to these problems and find ways to win anyway.
Having an option like Teravainen is exactly the type of wild card a team needs in order to combat the long NHL season, and now is the perfect time for him to be in Chicago.
A popular question around the Blackhawks has been: When will it be Teuvo Time? It seems as though that question will soon be answered and he will be playing in front of the United Center very shortly.
