Hossa’s 1000th Career NHL Point!
One of the most well-liked and respected players in the NHL has hit a major career milestone, tallying his 1,000 career NHL point. Oh, and by the way, he just happens to be a Blackhawk.
And not just any Blackhawk, but Marian Hossa – one of the team’s core players.
And tonight’s opponent was not just any opponent, but rather the Ottawa Senators: the very team that drafted the young Slovak winger 17 years ago, when he was 17.
It was Hossa’s 1,100th career game, and he became just the 80th player in NHL history to reach 1,000 career points.

That could – and should – have been the game-winning goal. Unfortunately, the Sens rained on that parade. But fortunately Patrick Sharp swooped in to save the day with the shootout game winner.
Hossa’s contract with the Hawks runs through the 2020-21 season. As long as he can stay healthy and have the kind of career longevity that Teemu Selänne, Jaromir Jagr, or Martin Brodeur have had, is mind-boggling to think how many more points Big Hoss could get before he ultimately hangs up his skates.
What has been your favorite moment of this future Hall of Famer’s career to date? Hossa seems to only get better with age, so perhaps the best is yet to come? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
