The Captain scored his 200th career goal in the first period tonight against the Montreal Canadiens.  Jonathan Toews becomes the 19th Chicago Blackhawks in franchise history to cross the 200 goal mark.

It took the Captain 497 games to pick up his 200th goal and now is just one assist from the 250 mark in that category.  Toews scored his 200th like a lot of his goals by being at the right place (in front of the net) at the right time.

The Captain has done a lot since arriving in Chicago in 2007 from becoming Captain to Winning 2 Stanley Cups To a Selke and Conn Smythe, but on a night when the Blackhawks needed someone to lead and get in front of the net there was the Captain leading by example and he was rewarded for his efforts.

The Captain may never score enough goals and points to win the Hart Trophy but he’s for sure the Blackhawks MVP on a nightly basis!

Congrats on the 200th Captain!!

Here’s a couple of our favorites from the first 200.
